This is the illfated Canadian High power locomotive M2 which was washed away by the tidal wave killing more than 1500 people .This 20 tone Engine washed away about 300 meters.Killing both engine drivers .

The nine compartments which also washed away and scatered everywhere with dead people.Only after four days that people could reach the train to clear the bodies struck in side.According to statistics this is the worlds worst train disaster.

This is the train track which is damaged,By now rail track from Colombo to Kalutara is repaired.But there is much to do Between galle and Kalutara.

This is the famous Hindu Temple when you pass Hikkaduwa.This is in the middle of the sea about 200 meters away from the beach.Nothing has happened to the buildings or to the statues in this temple.There is a part of this temple by the side of the road, but nothing has happened to it.All the surrounding buildings are damaged totally.
